In visual art circles, Emi Kusano, a Japanese AI artist and Meta Morph Award winner, had her video Morphing Memory of Neural Fad honored in July. Kusano’s AI-generated fashion, installations, and gallery exhibitions interrogate gender, memory, and emerging technology via retro-futurist aesthetics, bringing feminist and decolonial perspectives to AI art practice.
