Cyborg Mandala
This is an object we call the Cyborg Mandala. It is the map to our organization. Its mathematical form is a vesica piscis — two circles whose perimeters intersect each other’s centers, named for a fish’s swim bladder.
On the left are the Little Dipper and Big Dipper, aligned to a map of the night sky on May 24th, 2017 — the day we were officially incorporated as an LLC in the state of New York. The North Star is the highest one.
In the center are four minerals representing our values: Quartz for its oscillating electrical applications, Lapis Lazuli for its rich art history, Graphite for the written word, and Bloodstone for a reminder of the body.
On the right is our primary sigil, inscribed in the glass with powdered Lapis Lazuli, in a method invented by the artist who created this object.
This object was made by Cardinal in 2019, in an incredibly skilled and laborious process. He and Bluebird spent about a year in sketches and prototypes before he built the final version.
Bluebird agreed to make a textile and knotted rope “mother” to cradle the object on the wall, but was too nervous to put the piece at risk. As of 2026, Cyborg Mother is back in the project pipeline.
