Meditative Warm-Up
πΏ Rookery Meditative Warm-Up (β5 minutes)
Purpose: shift from doing to noticing β from production to presence.
1. Arrival (1 minute)
Sit wherever you are.
Place one hand on the desk, one on your chest.
Take three slow breaths.
On each exhale, silently say:
βI am entering the Rookery.β
2. Sensory Inventory (2 minutes)
Without judging or fixing, note:
One sound you can hear (even if faint)
One texture under your fingers
One light source in the room
One weight in your body (shoulders, jaw, hands)
This is the archivistβs stance: attention before action.
3. The Rookery Question (2 minutes)
Ask yourself quietly β no answer needed yet:
βWhat wants to be remembered tonight?β
Let whatever arises be enough: an image, a word, resistance, nothing at all.
