Meditative Warm-Up

🌿 Rookery Meditative Warm-Up (β‰ˆ5 minutes)

Purpose: shift from doing to noticing β€” from production to presence.

1. Arrival (1 minute)

  • Sit wherever you are.

  • Place one hand on the desk, one on your chest.

  • Take three slow breaths.

  • On each exhale, silently say:
    β€œI am entering the Rookery.”

2. Sensory Inventory (2 minutes)

Without judging or fixing, note:

  • One sound you can hear (even if faint)

  • One texture under your fingers

  • One light source in the room

  • One weight in your body (shoulders, jaw, hands)

This is the archivist’s stance: attention before action.

3. The Rookery Question (2 minutes)

Ask yourself quietly β€” no answer needed yet:

β€œWhat wants to be remembered tonight?”

Let whatever arises be enough: an image, a word, resistance, nothing at all.
